Research Methodology

The objective of this research was to compile a list of the Top IVF Hospitals and Clinics.

Research Process

The research consisted of three major modules: Desk Research, Recommendations from Medical Experts, Patient Experience, and Hospital and Clinic. These were followed by a scientifically developed analysis and ranking process.

MODULE 1 | DESK RESEARCH

This module involved secondary research to generate a comprehensive list of IVF hospitals and clinics using various sources such as:

  • Internet, magazines, and other publications.
  • Lists of hospitals from previous surveys (based on availability).
  • Discussions with specialists to refine the list by adding or removing hospitals.

Since it is not feasible to compile an exhaustive list of all IVF and Fertility hospitals and clinics respondents had the option to mention additional hospitals during the survey. This ensured that any hospital recognized by respondents had a chance to be included in the rankings.

MODULE 2 | RECOMMENDATIONS FROM MEDICAL EXPERTS

In this module, a structured questionnaire was administered to doctors specializing in IVF and Fertility, Gynecology/Obstetrics and Pediatrics. These experts evaluated hospitals and clinics based on multiple parameters, including Quality of treatment, infrastructure and quality of treatment and 425 interviews were conducted.

MODULE 3 | PATIENT EXPERIENCE

A structured questionnaire was also administered to 1600 patients and their caregivers to assess IVF hospitals and clinics based on their experiences. This covered parameters such as hospital infrastructure, quality of treatment, General satisfaction with the hospital, Recommendation of the hospital and other services

ANALYSIS & FINAL RANKING OF TOP HOSPITALS

A rigorous statistical analysis was conducted to determine the final rankings using perceptual data.

1. Perceptual Score

  • Ratings were assigned based on expert and patient feedback.
  • A regression model was used to determine the importance of various parameters.
  • Raw scores and weighted scores were calculated for each parameter.

Final Score Calculation

  • The final score for each hospital was a weighted average of its Perception.
  • Scores were normalized, and rankings were determined accordingly.

Caveats & Assumptions

  • Government, partially government-funded, not-for-profit, and charitable trust-funded hospitals were not included in the ranking.
  • The above ranking is based on feedback assessments from various hospitals to arrive at the final scores.
  • If the GAP between Hospitals is found low, hospitals are awarded the same rank.

The results of this ranking should not be used as the sole source of information for future deliberations. The information provided in this ranking should be considered in conjunction with other available information about hospitals.
